[ENHANCEMENT] Optionally sort profiles list

Problem (one or two sentences)

The profiles in the profile selector drop-up are currently displayed in a fixed order. When a user has many profiles, it can become difficult to find frequently used profiles quickly, and new profiles are always appended at the end.

Context (who is affected and when)

I suppose the profile selector is used frequently by many users. This also mimics how other tools behave (e.g. GitHub Copilot).

Desired behavior (conceptual, not technical)

Add an option to sort the profiles displayed in the profile selector drop-up. Users should be able to choose between the default order (the current behavior), and alphabetical order. The selected ordering should persist across sessions.
