Trainees who install Git during the onboarding prep were running git --version in the same terminal they had open before installing, seeing it fail, and reinstalling. Two trainees hit this and only got past it by restarting their computers, see replies in https://codeyourfutur-yov6609.slack.com/archives/C0BP5S459MG/p1788516226549219. The Check Git Installation block now describes what the failure looks like and adds a tip to open a fresh terminal after installing, restart the computer if that still fails, and fully reopen VSCode if it was open during the install.
