Summary
Per direction from IMAP-Lo, IMAP-Hi, IMAP-Ultra instrument leads and IMAP PI, change the start date for maps to 12/25/2025 (was previously 1/18/2026). The justification is that IMAP maps should be directly comparable to IBEX maps (predecessor mission) which has decades of maps that cue off 12/25.
This change affects the progressive map jobs scheduled to start running weekly on 9/4 and may affect the pipeline in other places, I'm not sure.
Here are the dates for the first year of maps that we will deliver to SPDF using this cadence start date:
IMAP “2026 Map” (12/25/2025-12/24/2026) – 12 months
IMAP “2026A Map” (12/25/2025-6/24/2026) – 6 months
IMAP “2026B Map” (06/24/2026-12/24/2026) – 6 months
IMAP “2026AA Map” (12/25/2025-03/24/2026) – 3 months
IMAP “2026AB Map” (03/25/2026-06/24/2026) – 3 months
IMAP “2026BA Map” (06/25/2026-09/24/2026) – 3 months
IMAP “2026BB Map” (09/25/2026-12/24/2026) – 3 months
