Music player with a real-time per-channel oscilloscope, focused on retro/tracker formats: it plays nearly 70 audio formats, from the usual MP3/FLAC/OGG/Opus to MOD, S3M, XM, IT and other module files. UI is in Brazilian Portuguese (locales set to pt-BR).
Why it's a good addition
There are few maintained desktop players that handle tracker/module formats natively with a live oscilloscope view per channel — VPX targets exactly that niche (retro computing / demoscene music), and it's actively maintained (v2.0.26, August 2026).
Built with Electron (closed source — evidence)
The app is distributed via GitHub Releases at https://github.com/hellfirespriston-art/vpx-releases — the win32-x64 zip ships the standard Electron runtime layout:
LICENSES.chromium.html,chrome_100_percent.pak,ffmpeg.dll,resources/app(packaged with electron-packager). It's also distributed through a Scoop bucket (https://github.com/hellfirespriston-art/scoop-vpx) and has a winget submission pending, both installing that same Electron build.The app was first released in July 2026 (over 20 days ago).
